Adelina Martinez Quartet

Warm, emotional and engaging, Adelina’s performances search for the meaning behind the music. Her playful, humorous style brings out the best in everyone on stage. Adelina seeks lyrics with heart and songs with soul. As an emerging artist in Australian contemporary music and jazz, she enjoys writing and collecting songs that are special to her. She has enjoyed recent guest appearances at The Press Club and Doo Bop Jazz Bar, as well as a successful tour of Central Queensland with the Queensland Youth Orchestras Big Band.

In quartet mode, Adelina is joined by three of her closest friends and musical collaborators. Together they explore a repertoire of blues and jazz favourites, Latin American folk tunes, original compositions and quirky arrangements. Old tunes become energised with new meaning as Charles Hill (drums), Samuel Treby (double bass) and Meg Burstow (piano) share their joy and expertise in making music together.
