Merinda Dias-Jayasinha Quartet

Jazz vocalist and composer Merinda Dias-Jayasinha, is happiest when she is singing and delights in storytelling. She is passionate about developing her jazz artistry and technique, and intends to continue pursuing musical excellence through her art.

A recent Bachelor of Music (Jazz Voice) graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium, Merinda studied with renowned vocal pedagogue Dr. Irene Bartlett and celebrated Australian jazz vocalist Kristin Berardi.

Merinda works with a range of wonderful musicians including John Hoffman, Steve Newcomb, and her colleagues from the Conservatorium. Merinda leads her own group,the Merinda Dias-Jayasinha Group, and is involved in a number of diverse ensembles
and projects, including SOME duo with pianist Sophie Min. Recent performance highlights include the Brisbane Jazz Club, Bennetts Lane (2016), and the Magnetic Island Jazz Festival (2014, 2016, 2017).

Joining her are some of her favourite musicians – Sophie Min (piano), Helen Svoboda (bass), and Charles Hill (drums).
