Yas Queen
Yas Queen is a celebration of women in music. This female led jazz band is the yin to the yang of Brisbane’s jazz scene.
Since their debut performance in 2017, Yas Queen have performed onstage at Brisbane Festival, The Wonderland Festival and the Brisbane International Jazz Festival; as well as prominent venues such as the Brisbane Jazz Club, Doo Bop Jazz Bar, JMI Live and The Brisbane Powerhouse. Yas Queen have also appeared regularly on radio stations ABC Brisbane and 4ZZZ.
Yas Queen is fronted by trained musicians Paula Girvin, Mel Lathouras and Tenille West. Described by their fans as the ultimate jazz party band, Yas Queen perform a stompin’ set of big band classics and popular jazz standards – interwoven with humorous stage banter and storytelling. Their female leads also have a penchant for Boswell and Andrew Sister-like harmonies delivered with sass and originality.
