The African Drummers

This November, be transported to the roaring savannah of Africa with a special performance from Joseph and Tunde, the African Drummers at Studio 188.

Tunde Solanke, a percussionist, drum maker and vocalist is joined by vivacious counterpart Joseph Matovu, a percussionist, vocalist, instrumentalist and African traditional choreographer. Their upbeat performance – accompanied by their amazing dancers – is sure to motivate, inspire and uplift you.

Prepare to be amazed by their unique instruments including the amadinda (xylophones), adungu (harp), and endingidi (fiddle tube). Joseph also focuses on the use of music for healing, his ambition is for his audience to reach homeostatis through the use of music. Joseph is currently undertaking a course at Harvard University and a wellness course in Berkley School of Music in the United States.

Both Joseph and Tunde have performed extensively in Australia and overseas and have a strong focus on mental health, disability, and the general public to promote health and well-being through music.
