Ipswich Rocks: Rock Decorating + Rock Hunt Workshop

Creative Ipswich have partnered with Studio 188 to host a Rock Decorating Workshop these July school holidays. This is the perfect way to get creative and then get exploring with a Rock Hunt through the top of town to follow!

What is Creative Ipswich?
Creative Ipswich is an online creative community for anyone living in Ipswich. Founded in 2019 by locals Caragh and Pauline Dickson with one vision in mind, to get all Ipswich Creatives in one place to share, collaborate and contribute to our thriving local community.

What is Ipswich Rocks?
Ipswich Rocks is a smaller online sub-community of the Queensland Rocks group. It’s easy to join in on the fun by painting or decorating the top of your rock and hiding them in parks around Ipswich for others to find and share online. Get out with friends and go rock hunting for these hidden little gems.

Here is what you need to know about the upcoming workshop:
+ There are 2 ticketed sessions at 9:00am & 10:30am (Please book a ticket for each person coming – parents included)
+ This is an all ages event
+ The workshops will be held at Studio 188 – a Family Friendly Venue
+ Materials will be supplied for each participant to create a some rocks
+ Following the workshop, your rocks will be hidden throughout the Top of Town for you to find & we encourage you to leave some for others to find too!

FAQ:

Do I need to RSVP as an adult? Or just my kids who are participating?

Everyone who will be attending needs to RSVP (even parents). This is to ensure the safety of others by ensuring the venue does not go over capacity.

Can I bring my own rocks and painting materials?

You are more than welcome to bring your own rocks and painting materials, however we ask that these are low mess option like sharpies and paint pens.

Will there be food and drinks available on the day?

The Studio 188 kiosk will be open offering soft drinks and light snacks such as Pringles, chocolates and nuts. Tea and Coffee is not available.

I RSVP’d but can no longer attend, what should I do?

If for some reasion you cannot make the event and have booked a ticket, please contact Creative Ipswich to let them know. This means that we can allocate your slot to someone else so they can join in on the fun.

Is there parking available?

There is paid parking available along Brisbane Street, Waghorn Street and Limestone Street, all of which are a short walking distance to Studio 188.
