Calling all young emerging artists!

Are you an Ipswich based emerging artist looking to advance your independent music career but not sure where to start? Ipswich Unearthed is for you.

Ipswich Unearthed is a bi-monthly performance and music business development opportunity for young, emerging musicians living in Ipswich. This unique show is aimed at young performing artists aged 13-25 years, looking to launch their professional performance career or eager to learn more about the industry. The aim of Ipswich Unearthed is to develop young artists’ skills, build their confidence and encourage them to pursue their musical career independently.

The journey starts ahead of the show, where all performing artists are invited to attend a music marketing and technical workshop at Studio 188 to discuss key industry topics, such as:

  • what is music business and how can it help you?
  • how to make music marketing and social media work for you
  • how to stand out from the crowd
  • what is the recipe for an awesome artist bio
  • promotional material must haves and helpful
  • online tools to make you look like a pro
  • what is an Electronic Press Kit (EPK)?
  • venue tech – what to do before and during a show
  • what is an ABN?
  • how to get paid

On the night of the performance, our technicians work with each artist during an extended sound check to ensure they understand the various cogs of live music production. Artists are encouraged to perform a mix of covers and originals during their 20 minute set.
